The stained glass shop offers a new outlet for art lovers | New

“We didn’t really know what to expect when we first opened the store, but it’s definitely been a pleasant surprise how many people want to learn something new and try something new,” Michelle Arnott said.

In downtown Tomahawk on Wisconsin Ave, artists have a place they can visit to have a unique experience and be on the cutting edge of technology.

“You have to cut, grind, laminate, weld, then finish your part. So after four hours you have a part to take home,” Arnott said.

Michelle Arnott has been teaching people how to cut stained glass for over four years at her Diamond Rock Glass studio.

“It’s been a hobby for over 25 years,” Arnott said.

Arnott says she is happy to bring her passion to so many new people.

There is a wide range of people who enroll in Arnott’s courses.

“I get all ages. So there’s something for, from five to, I think I turned 85 here,” Arnott said.

She is convinced that there is something in her shop for everyone.

“The number one myth is that you have to be creative. You don’t. You can, as long as you can pick a pattern and colors you like. From there, all you do is build” , Arnott said.

Arnott says she is happy to be part of such a welcoming Northwoods community and to be able to share her talent.

“I love it. It’s not really a job. I like doing it every day,” Arnott said.
